TERMINATORS WIN AT MOORESTOWN

The Washington Township (U-9) Terminators beat the Moorestown Mercury 3-2 to end their regular spring season in Moorestown on Saturday, May 12th.

The Terminators first goal of the game was scored by Halfback Natalie Young with an assist from Forward Janine Valerio.  Goalkeeper Kylee McCusker had three fantastic saves and delivered another exciting performance, shutting out the Mercury in the first half.  The Fullback trio of Chelsea Wanielista, Christina Liuzzi and Laura Rose also contributed significantly to the Mercury's scoreless first half.   They made some tremendous defensive plays in this close contest.   Halfbacks Morgan Muracco and Victoria Jordan did their jobs well also, dominating play for the Terminators by consistently controlling the ball.

Playing on the forward line for the first time, Ariel Cangemi scored her first goal as a Terminator early in the second half, making the score 2-0.  Assisted by Forward Angela Grous, Victoria Jordan shot a bullet into the net following an indirect penalty kick, making the score 3-0.  Forwards Erin Rose Mulvenna, Tori Dott and Cindy Maltese consistently applied pressure on the Mercury defense throughout the game.  Before this match was over, the Mercury managed to score two goals but second half goalkeeper Natalie Young made three dynamic saves, preserving the win for the Terminators with a 3-2 final score.

The Terminators finished their regular spring season with an outstanding 7-2-1 record.  They will play in two upcoming tournaments to wrap up their phenomenal season.  The Terminators are coached by Charlie Muracco, Mike Wanielista and Frank Liuzzi.
