The Washington Township (U-9) Terminators beat Ewing 4-1 on Saturday, April 21st at home. Ewing scored the first goal early in the game but Forward Janine Valerio quickly tied the game after beating several of Ewing's defenders to the goal. Forward Natalie Young followed with a dynamic goal over the head of the Ewing goalkeeper, giving the Terminators a 2-1 lead at halftime. Fullback Laura Rose, who also played goalkeeper for the Terminators during some of the first half, played an outstanding defensive game, denying Ewing any more opportunities following their game opening goal.
Once again, Halfbacks Victoria Jordan and Kylee McCusker did their jobs well in stopping many offensive threats by Ewing as well as setting up many scoring opportunities for the Terminators offensive line. Fullbacks Christina Luizzi, Ariel Cangemi and Chelsea Wanielista played awesome defense, stopping anything that came their way and allowing the Terminators to control the ball for most of the game.
Terminator Forwards Angela Grous, Cindy Maltese, Tori Dott and Erin Rose Mulvenna played agressively, orchestrating great moves and setting up fantastic plays. This great teamwork gave Janine Valerio an opportunity to score her second goal of the game early in the second half. Forward Morgan Muracco scored the final goal of this contest, making the score 4-1, while Goalkeeper Natalie Young insured no more Ewing goals, capturing another win for the Terminators.
The Terminators record is now 5-1-1 with three regular season games remaining. Their next game is Saturday, April 28th at TBAA.
The Terminators are coached by Charlie Muracco, Mike Wanielista and Frank Liuzzi.
