TERMINATORS WIN AT TBAA

The Washington Township U-9 Terminators defeated the TBAA Tornadoes 5-1 on Saturday, April 28th giving the team a four game winning streak.

The Terminators had many shots on goal during the first half of play until the first goal was scored by Forward Angela Grous with a tremendous assist from Forward Cindy Maltese.  Halfback Morgan Muracco quickly followed with another awesome goal to put the Terminators on top 2-0.  First half goalkeeper Natalie Young made several great saves but was unable to stop one Tornado goal, giving the Terminators a 2-1 edge at halftime.  Fullbacks Chelsea Wanielista, Ariel Cangemi and Christina Liuzzi once again played outstanding defense all game, preventing the Tornado offense from any serious scoring threats.   Forward Erin Rose Mulvenna continued to play agressive offense with the assistance of Halfbacks Kylee McCusker and Victoria Jordan,  who manage to consistently provide the Terminators with the opportunity to dominate play with great ball control.

Early in the second half, Forward Tori Dott made a phenomenal assist to Natalie Young, who scored the first Terminator goal of the second half.  A few minutes later, Natalie scored again, giving the Terminators a 4-1 lead.  Forward Janine Valerio sealed the victory for the Terminators with the final goal of the game.  Second half goalkeeper Laura Rose, delivered another excellent performance, keeping the Tornadoes scoreless in the second half.

The Terminators are coached by Charlie Muracco, Mike Wanielista and Frank Liuzzi.  Their spring season record is now 6-1-1 with two regular season games remaining.  The Terminators next game is at home against the Marlton Storm on Saturday, May 5th.  The Terminators only loss of the spring season was against the Storm so the upcoming game should be an exciting one in determining the division leader.
